Master Chinese radicals, the building blocks of characters.

Before learning Chinese characters, I recommend getting a grasp of radicals, the building blocks of characters. The use of radicals helps to break down, categorize, remember, write, and find characters more easily since there is no alphabet. This database will cover all 214 Chinese radicals, providing usage examples to aid in your understanding of Mandarin writing.

You will get the following files:
  • PDF (195KB)
  • PDF (72KB)

Never taught in class

I'm really grateful for this database! I studied Mandarin Chinese in university but we never went over radicals. I feel like i'm missing a lot of context and meaning when studying both new and old characters. I'm really excited to finally fill in the missing gaps. Thank you for creating this resource!
